Biography

The Linthicum-Shipley Improvement Association (LSIA) is one of the largest voluntary membership community associations in northern Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The LSIA has more than 500 members and represents more than 2,600 households in the 21090 ZIP Code.

The LSIA is an umbrella group of sorts in that it counts among its members residents from developments such as Crestwood, Shipley-Fairmount, Gapgalleon, Linthicum Oaks and Michaelton Manor, all of which either have (or have had) active homeowners associations.

Linthicum (lin-thee-kum) is located approximately 12 miles southwest of Baltimore and is bordered to the west by Baltimore-Washington International Airport, to the south by Glen Burnie and to the east by Brooklyn Park.

The association's general membership meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except in July and August. The LSIA's 12-member board of directors meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. Membership in the association is $10 per year; business memberships are $25, but carry no voting rights.
